Students work on theory and practical classes approximately 3 months prior to working on clients. We feel it is necessary for students to gain full confidence in the class room before they are ready to work on clients. For the remaining 7 months of the course they gain practical experience providing services to clients and/or fellow students as well as continued learning on mannequins.

At the International Hair Academy our theoretical learning is done both as self-learning for certain areas and as classroom/seminar teaching for others. This allows students who to set the pace for their own learning.

Financial Institutions - Student Line of Credit

Financial Assistance may be available to those students who qualify. Bank Loans through a student line of credit are available to qualifying students.

Employment Services

Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) has programs available to those who qualify and are currently collecting insurable earnings through HRDC. Contact your local HRDC office for information about their current programs.

For those who do not qualify for HRDC sponsorship, your local bank or credit union may provide a student loan.

School Payment Plan

Payment for the course is broken down as follows:

Full Time and Part Time - Hairstyling Program:

• First Day of School - $1480 (including first month´s tuition, kit, and books)

• First of each month for the following 9 Months - $530

Registration: An interview with the student is conducted before registering. A registration and pre-entrance fee of $100, which is non-refundable, must be paid when registering but is included in the total course cost.

Upon completion of your course to receive your Hair Styling license you must first register as an apprentice. Once your apprenticeship is completed you will be required to write an exam administered by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.

There is a fee of $100.00 to write the exam.
